Once upon a time…

Snow White (detail), 2010, Oil on Canvas, 60cm x 80cm

In the last couple of weeks I have started work on a painting installation for “Goodine’s Bistro”. With any luck and a whole lot of hard work it will be ready for SALA week. I am working with a severely limited palette, and more speed than usual. These images are from the first painting, and are in progress.

I’d also like to mention The Mother’s May exhibition at The Women’s and Children’s Hospital. A number of artists  (including me) have donated small (30cm x 40cm ) works to raise funds for the hospital. All for sale at a very reasonable price! An image of one of my donated works appears below. Why not go along and check it out, gallery one at the WCH, just near the hospital school.

  1. Terry Krieg says:

    Hello Sally,
Loved the portrait of you in Barbara’s arms. What a beautiful couple. Hope to catch up again one of these days.

  2. Danielle Day says:

    Hey Sal-
LOVE the oils here. Barb mentioned the last one and gave us a look, it is so beautiful! How proud does she look there? Lovely!

I must say, I adore the light and colour you have coming through in the coloured paintings. This portrait of Teresa is just superb, and her expression and pose is very enigmatic. ^_^

Mum wants me to say she thinks these two are fantastic as well.

    1. Thanks for the comments Danni! As you know, artists do need quite a lot of positive reinforcement at times. The whole series is progressing, I now have four paintings in progress. As always, learning lots as I make them. Strangely (or maybe not so strangely) Snow White (the one you have seen) is proving the hardest to bring to completion. First to begin, last to complete! Can I link you to my blog? I like the idea of being connected to other artists, and your jewellery is a lot of fun!
